The content of cadmium in tobacco leaves, the uptake and translocation of cadmium in tobacco, the distribution of cadmium in root and shoot, different stalk position and variation in tobacco leaves were reviewed. The factors, such as the background value of cadmium in soil, agronomic practices and soil characteristics on the uptake of cadmium in tobacco were analyzed, the corresponding control meatures were also proposed.
