A fast and remarkable way of decreasing the benzene residue was found to meet the requirement of VOCS control standard. The method included two parts. Firstly, quality control of new raw material was conducted, and no material with high benzene content was used. Secondly, the decrease of benzene residue could be effectively achieved in the finished cigarette trademard paper by ventilation, such as increasing the ventilation temperature, prolonging ventilation time and enhancing the ventilated rate.
