    Effects of Decapitation and Physiological Regulator on Chemical Components of Flue-cured Tobacco

    • The effects of decapitation and physiological regulator on chemical components of flue-curd tobacco were studied using pot experiment in order to investigate the physiological regulation measures of tobacco quality. The results showed that potassium content in tobacco leaves was significantly (P<0.05) decreased by 13.2%~39.6% and nicotine content was significantly (P<0.05) increased by times after decapitation. But potassium content in tobacco leaves was significantly (P<0.05) increased by 14.5%~23.6% and nicotine content was significantly (P<0.05) decreased by 12.5%~34.7% when physiological regulator was applied to tobacco after decapitation. In addition, the effects of decapitation and physiological regulator on total nitrogen, reducing sugar and protein were not obvious. In conclusion, physiological regulator applied to tobacco after decapitation can improve the qualities of flue-cured tobacco.
