With the development of tobacco international trade, the detection of genetically modified (GM) tobacco products has been a worldwide research focus. Currently, two methods are applied including PCR and ELISA, based on DNA and protein, respectively. In this paper, the development of PCR used in detecting GM tobacco was reviewed, which might provide a useful tool for researching program of GM tobacco detection.
